Monday, September 03, 2007 . Band comp sucked.

im back after dunno how many weeks of absence.

Im doing my eng holiday hw as im blogging this.

Sch is getting more stressful, or should i say, retarded.

We get enough holiday hw to last us two weeks when we only got one. For me, one day lost due to that stupid Hollies festival band comp.

We lost, like duh. Didnt get past the audition.

Before i get to earlier things, let tok abt that.

We got to Youth Park like earlier thn any band. Kiasu sia. They gave us the first chance to play. We eventually wanted the 12 spot but they said "first-come-first-serve" and that if we chose our queue number and everyone did the same there wld be chaos fuck la.

Before we got to YP we went to orchard cinelesiure to wait for Timo. While wait i got tired and sat down on the floor on the first level in front of the escalator. The security guard promptly told me to get up. Jared very funny. He said "the floor made of gold". LOL.

We went out, moved into the side of the building to wait. Then oliver took out his squier nullet strat and i took out daryl's bass. We began like warming up, jamming and playing. Then security guard came over saw us and said "dont show off here". LOLOL.

I was wearing my underoath shirt, which was tight like hell and the baggy jeans i bought months ago with the converse shoes i bought just 3 days ago. Jared wearing some shirt with collar and jeans and levis shoe while oliver just wore his iron maiden shirt and jeans with sports shoes. My converse damn uncomfortable. i nvr wear socks wat.


We then met Timo Lo and then moved over the comp area. We just hung arnd playing random shit. Then i got hungry and bought two banana bread that was pretty dry. Then we were called up as soon i got back and we went up for some soundcheck. Then we performed.

Now this is where im angry about. Fuck timothy. Wat the hell? he didnt get some lyrics right beforehnad, that was ok, but he fucked up lyrics during the actual performance. During the final chorus he forgot to sing. I and oliver had to give him some backup before he began. Stupid.

According to jared, he told me my bass was slightly lagging behind oliver. arggh nvm. we didnt get in anyway. and the judges were biased. they didnt even speak to us and the next band, but talked shit for all the other bands. They even had the emcee to tell us "the first two bands had not enough stage presence". What was so fucked up about us they couldnt pick up their mics and tell us?

They third band was fucking good. Hellven X i think. They played an original with just two minutes of vocals and a damn epic 5 minutes guitar solo. The lead guitarist fucking pro. He does tricks better than anyone else there and puts shame to synyster gates or even van halen.

The other bands werent bad either. The Freeloaders did very well. Another did Elvis Presley;s Jailhouse Rock. What a classic and a rocking performance. The rest werent really memorable.

Anyway, after that i went for the class oting. Damn fun sia. I actually was damn tired and wanted to go home but farid and ihsan kept asking me go. so i went.

The food wasnt really bad, just what u expect of a 13 dollar per person buffet outlet. Its the Marina South one. We ate at the halal part.

Aniwae, lets go back in time.

The teacher's day concert really sucked. It was fucking squeezy. My legs were like numb like hell and no space to stretch also. no one to chat with too. And the only decent music tat was EVER played was Canon In D. nO wonder thats a classic.

The first two bands sucked and also damn funny. The lead singer of the first did this:

4E3 and another did a good job too.
Chinese dance was good, i mean only the sec 4s. the sec 3 was average.

i got good results for my last three tests of the term.

Maths trigo test: 17/30 4th in class and NO crosses on my paper at all. highest was 20

Physics sound test: 18/25 2nd in class highest was one mark higher

and Chemistry chemical equation test: 19/20 2nd in class highest was 20/20 like duh
